On Friday, June 16, 2023, Thrive Morris Gives, led by Kathy D’Agati, past chair of Thrive Morris, collaborated with Leadership Morris Alumni, an elite network of inspired servant leaders to donate their time and resources to serve the local community at Family Promise and the Interfaith Food Pantry of Morris County.
The volunteer event was a resounding success, leaving a lasting impact on those in need.
With a strong commitment to fostering social welfare, Thrive Morris Gives embarked on their mission to alleviate hunger and aid individuals and families facing food insecurity and homelessness.
For over 25 years, the Interfaith Food Pantry Network has improved the health and well-being of Morris County residents in need by providing access to food, education, and other resources. In 2022 the food pantry distributed 1,704,668 million pounds of food to over 31,167 households.

The volunteers from Thrive Morris Gives and Leadership Morris engaged in a variety of activities to support these organizations. In addition to sorting and organizing food donations, the volunteers dedicated their time to gardening vegetables and planting flowers, enhancing the outdoor spaces for visitors to enjoy. They also participated in painting projects, revitalizing rooms to create a welcoming environment. Furthermore, the volunteers were actively involved in the distribution of food to 197 families, ensuring that essential resources reached those in need.
“We believe in the power of community and the importance of lending a helping hand to those in need,” said Kathy D’Agati, leader of Thrive Morris Gives. “Our organization is committed to making a positive difference in the lives of individuals and families facing challenges. Partnering with Family Promise and the Interfaith Food Pantry allowed us to directly impact the community and address the pressing issue of homelessness and food insecurity.”
The Interfaith Food Pantry of Morris County expressed their heartfelt gratitude for the support provided by Thrive Morris Gives. Executive Director, Carolyn Lake stated, “We are incredibly thankful for the dedicated volunteers from Thrive Morris Gives and Leadership Morris. Their generosity and willingness to assist have made a significant impact on our ability to serve the community. Together, we are making strides in the fight against hunger.”
By engaging in gardening, painting, and distributing food, the volunteers demonstrated their commitment to improving the lives of individuals and families in Morris County. Their efforts brought joy, nourishment, and a renewed sense of hope to those facing adversity.
